Building Community
Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. CRM Nepal’s team traveled to an underdeveloped village to have a firsthand experience in Nepal’s devastating 2015 earthquake. After the first response visit, our team managed to travel to many remote villages in Nepal and brought much-needed relief to those in need. Some families came to us since they, unfortunately, had nowhere else to go. We supplied them with food, clothing, and tents to makeshift homes, while their actual homes were being constructed.
CRM Nepal is currently building homes of widows and destitute families. Many of the homes CRM Nepal builds were a partnership project where the family received grants from the government in Nepal. CRM Nepal could assist people with up to 75,000 R.S, and homeowners could also contribute to the construction of their homes if they had the funds to do so.
For many widows and poorest of the poor families, CRM Nepal built module homes with a budget expanding from 180, 000 R.s. to 300,000 R.s., (equivalent to $1,800 to $3,000 in average) with participation from the home owner’s contribution.
