Asmita is in 8th grade. She lives with her grandparents in the remote village of Chhoprak, Gorkha. She is an average student, achieving 68 in English and 42 in Social Studies. Sadly, when Asmita was four years old, her mother fled with another man and her father married her current stepmother. Asmita’s dad is now living in India and she has not heard from him for many years. Asmita’s grandparents try their best, but they are very poor. They are thankful to CRM Nepal for giving their granddaughter an opportunity to attend school. When Asmita grows up, she wants to serve the Lord.
Asmita is considered low caste. We refer to children like her as “GOLD” children: Girl, Orphaned, Low-caste, Destitute. These children are at great risk of being trafficked. Our heart and desire is to save young girls like Asmita. Each year, thousands of young children are sold from Nepal to India. We don’t want Asmita to be one of them.
As you read this, please pray that Asmita will become educated and will one day be able to support herself and her grandparents. Sponsorship provides a child like Asmita with a life-changing opportunity, and costs just Rs.1500 a month.
Your contribution provides for the basic needs of young and at-risk children, enabling them to stay home and attend school to avoid being sold into human trafficking. CRM Nepal helping destitute children, widows, and orphans, and by fighting against human trafficking.
