Inner City Meals Program
Children Rescue Mission Nepal is reaching out to many street children who fight to survive every single day in Kathmandu, Nepal. Parents are working 12 to 15 hours a day, leaving their children all alone at home all day, being as young as 4 years old. There are approximately 5,000 street children in Kathmandu as of now, causing these children to be potential targets for human trafficking. Children Rescue Mission Nepal targets slum areas and provide children with warm meals and teach them to stay away from human traffickers by leaflets and video presentations. Anti-Human Trafficking videos are important in educating the people of Nepal since the whole country is around 33% illiterate.
Large numbers of low-caste, orphaned, handicapped, and otherwise impoverished children are often found roaming the streets of Kathmandu. While many children found here are orphaned, some have parents but they are unable to properly provide care for their children. Additionally, most of these children suffer from inadequate education as well.
Children Rescue Mission Nepal is dedicated to educating these often neglected children about the dangers of human trafficking and keeping them off the streets and out of harm’s way.
